Hilton hotel at Québec

Wednesday 28 Feb 2024
From 8:30AM To 5PM

CIRANO has chosen “Accelerate the transition to a sustainable and innovative biofood sector” as the theme for the year 2023-2024.

This thematic year also coincides with the consultation and consultation efforts carried out by MAPAQ as part of the process of updating the 2018-2025 Biofood Policy of the Government of Quebec.

In this context, CIRANO has organized the content of its annual conference, which will take place on February 28, 2024 in Quebec, in order to support MAPAQ in its process of updating the Biofood Policy. Throughout this day, we will alternate between presentations and reflection workshops. We will provide informed information from CIRANO experts and government partners in biofood policy which will highlight the challenges and priorities of the sector beyond the year 2025.

This day of reflection is intended as a platform for sharing experiences and collective intelligence workshops, focusing on four themes:

  • Theme 1: ESG issues and sustainable practices in the Quebec biofood sector.
  • Theme 2: Perceptions, knowledges and behaviors of Quebecers regarding food.
  • Theme 3: Innovation and data: Opportunities, challenges and best practices.
  • Theme 4: Develop coherent interministerial public policies.

During this day, you will be invited to share your ideas to help propel the biofood sector towards a sustainable and innovative future.

Your commitment and innovative ideas are essential to boost this sector, which is essential to the Quebec economy as well as the vitality of the territories and the health of Quebecers!

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, André Lamontagne, will give a morning address at the symposium.
