On September 29, 2025, nearly one hundred leaders of the St. Lawrence–Great Lakes Corridor gathered at the Port of Montreal to chart the course for strengthening this vital corridor for North American trade and competitiveness.
Among the participants were CEOs of ports, shipping companies, railways, and the St. Lawrence Seaway, as well as the three co-chairs of the event: the Honourable Jean Charest, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, and Adam Tindall-Schlicht, Administrator of the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, CEO of CIRANO, presented evidence-based data from the digital twin of the St. Lawrence–Great Lakes region on the efficiency and competitiveness of the transport and trade corridor, highlighting the strengths and challenges of this strategic corridor. Molivann Panot, Project Director at CIRANO, took part in a panel on corridor competitiveness. Several members of the GVCdtLab team were present throughout the day.
These discussions and contributions are directly linked to the upcoming Summit of the Conference of Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers, to be held in Quebec City on October 4, 5, and 6.
