CIRANO participates in the Annual Meeting of Partners of the 2025–2035 Biofood Policy

On May 29, Ingrid Peignier, Senior Director of Partnerships and Research Valorization at CIRANO, was invited to represent CIRANO at the Annual Meeting of Partners of the 2025–2035 Biofood Policy organized by the Quebec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) in Drummondville.

This event brought together more than 400 stakeholders from Quebec’s biofood sector and provided an opportunity to revisit the major orientations of the policy and hear announcements from Premier Christine Fréchette, particularly regarding strengthening the competitiveness of agricultural businesses and supporting the next generation of farmers.

For CIRANO, the meeting was a valuable opportunity to engage with several governmental, institutional, and sectoral partners with whom it collaborates on issues related to innovation, consumer trust, sustainable food systems, and the development of evidence-based public policies.

For many years, CIRANO has contributed to the reflections and research initiatives supporting the implementation of Quebec’s Biofood Policy, notably through the Quebec Consumers’ Food Confidence Barometer, conducted under the direction of Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin and Ingrid Peignier. Developed in close collaboration with MAPAQ, this measurement tool helps better understand Quebec consumers’ perceptions, concerns, and behaviors regarding food, thereby providing essential evidence-based data to guide public decision-making in the food sector.

CIRANO thanks MAPAQ for the invitation and looks forward to continuing this long-standing collaboration.
