Robert Lacroix keynote speaker at La Grande Rencontre Trajectoires 2024.

Robert Lacroix, a Fellow researcher at CIRANO, Professor and Emeritus Rector at the University of Montreal, was the keynote speaker at La Grande Rencontre Trajectoires 2024 on November 7 at the Cœur des sciences of UQAM. The presentation, titled « La sous-scolarisation des hommes » summarized the main conclusions of a study published in 2023 in the form of a book: La sous-scolarisation des hommes et le choix de profession des femmes, stemming from a CIRANO research project conducted with Catherine Haeck, Full Professor at UQAM and CIRANO researcher and Fellow, and Richard E. Tremblay, Professor at the University of Montreal.

Robert Lacroix is currently working on the continuation of this project at CIRANO, with the same team. The new study examines the link between investments in early childhood education and gender performance gaps in schooling. It also aims to measure the impact of relative age in class on academic success in Quebec and Canada.
