Nicolas Vincent appointed Non-Executive Deputy Governor at the Bank of Canada

Congratulations to Nicolas Vincent, full professor at HEC Montréal, Main researcher of the Business cycles and Financial Markets theme and CIRANO Fellow, for his appointment as a non-executive deputy governor at the Bank of Canada.

 

He will take office on March 13, 2023 for a two-year term following the successful completion of a public recruitment process.

He joins the Bank's Governing Council, which currently consists of Governor Tiff Macklem, Senior Deputy Governor Carolyn Rogers and the three Deputy Governors Paul Beaudry, Toni Gravelle and Sharon Kozicki.

He is an accomplished researcher and teacher with extensive expertise in macroeconomic and microeconomic research, in areas such as inflation and price dispersion, business dynamics, inequality, house prices, and household finance. His deep knowledge of monetary economics and strong interest in public policy will undoubtedly help the Bank meet the policy challenges ahead. »

Like the other members of the Board, Nicolas Vincent will be called upon to communicate the Bank's monetary policy decisions to Canadians, as well as the Bank's ongoing assessment of the economic and inflation outlook.
