Biography

A CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since 1999, Guy Paré is Full Professor in the Department of Information Technologies and Director of the Ph.D. in Administration Program at HEC Montréal. He is also Holder of the Research Chair in Digital Health, a research fellow and a board member at CEFRIO.

Holding a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Florida International University, his research interests focus on the adoption, implementation, usage and impacts of IT in health care.

His current research interests involve the clinical, organizational and economic impacts of telehealth applications, electronic patient record systems and health information exchange projects as well as the use and impact of mobile apps and smart connected devices. His work has appeared in top-ranked scientific journals and presented at several international and national conferences. Professor Paré’s expertise in medical informatics has been sought by numerous organizations including the World Health Organization, the Department of Health in France, Canada Health Infoway, and the Québec Ministry of Health and Social Services.

Guy Paré was elected a member of the Social Sciences Academy of the Royal Society of Canada in 2012.

Guy Paré received the 2020 Award for Research Excellence.
