In 2025–2026, research activities at CIRANO provided an opportunity to highlight one of the organisation’s key strengths: its ability to forge links between researchers with diverse areas of expertise, drawing on a range of different and innovative methodologies and a variety of data sources. By bringing the research community together around a common theme Education and workforce: for a more productive and equitable society, CIRANO fostered a genuine dialogue between researchers, practitioners and stakeholders in the field, thereby enabling the identification of insightful findings firmly rooted in the complexity of today’s challenges.

This special edition of PERSPECTIVES brings together six articles published over the course of the year, drawn from research projects conducted at CIRANO. They focus on educational choices, inequalities, and the transformations and challenges facing the labour market.
