Appointment of Genevieve Dufour as Director of Major Collaborative Projects at CIRANO

CIRANO is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Genevieve Dufour, as Director of Major Collaborative Projects at CIRANO.

In this capacity, Genevieve Dufour will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of large-scale research collaborations with other organizations for which dedicated funding will be available over several years.

This mandate is a continuation of her role as coordinator of the CIRANO Pole on the Socio-economic Impacts of Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence, for which she has participated in the implementation of several major collaborative projects, and of her role within the "En avant math!"initiative on the importance of mathematics for Quebec society, supported by the Quebec government, in collaboration with the Centre de recherches mathématiques.

Genevieve Dufour holds a Master's degree in Economics from the Université de Montréal. She has worked as a research professional in numerous organizations, including the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the Université de Montréal and CIRANO, in addition to carrying out private economic research and analysis mandates leading to the drafting of expert reports used, among other things, in court. Since her return to CIRANO in 2017, she has collaborated on numerous research projects related to the job market, training, human resources management and productivity. In addition, she coordinated the 9th edition of the book Le Québec économique which will be released on November 24, 2020.

Her experience in project management and coordination of several major projects are important assets to take on this new mandate, which is in line with CIRANO's desire to continue to develop research collaborations with other organizations in its ecosystem.
