A Look Back at the 2026 Bourstad Competition Awards Ceremony

On May 27, the closing ceremony for the 2026 Bourstad Competition was held, bringing together nearly 100 participants and guests to celebrate the achievements of the young people who took part in this year’s event.

This year, the program saw remarkable participation, with 2,860 young people registered for the 2026 Bourstad Competition and 9,020 participants in the private Bourstad simulations organized during the 2025–2026 school year. In total, 190 teachers and facilitators guided the young people as they explored investing and financial markets.

Through an immersive stock market simulation, Bourstad enables participants to develop their financial knowledge, better understand how markets work, and become familiar with the principles of responsible investing. Students are tasked with managing a virtual portfolio under conditions modeled after real-world markets, while putting their analytical and decision-making skills to the test.

The 2026 edition held special significance as it paid tribute to Paul Bourget, the program’s founder. His vision and commitment helped make Bourstad an essential benchmark in financial education for young Quebecers.

The closing ceremony was hosted by Ingrid Peignier and Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin. Their presence helped highlight the participants’ achievements as well as the importance of financial education for young people. The awards were presented to the winners by Geneviève Dufour, thereby recognizing the excellence and dedication of this year’s winners.

Congratulations to the recipients of the various awards, as well as to all the participants who took on the challenge this year with enthusiasm and determination.
