Sonia Laszlo is appointed Associate Dean, Research and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at McGill University.

Congratulations to Sonia Laszlo, Full Professor in the Department of Economics at McGill University, CIRANO researcher and Fellow, for her appointment as Associate Dean, Research and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion within the Faculty of Arts at McGill University.

The Associate Dean, Research and EDI oversees and facilitates research activities within the Faculty of Arts and promotes a culture of innovation and collaboration with professors, researchers, and administrators to enhance the Faculty’s research profile.  

Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto, Sonia Laszlo is specializing in applied microeconomic analysis in economic development. Her current research is primarily focused on the microeconomics of social policies and their effects on women and women's economic empowerment.

She is co‐founder and an executive member of the Canadian Development Economics Study Group (CDESG), which groups both academic and policy development economists in Canada.
