Roundtable on Immigration and Integration into the Labour Market

On September 26, 2025, a roundtable on immigration was held within the framework of the Programmation de recherche à portée gouvernementale (PRPG) on labour markets and public policies.

During the event, Brahim Boudarbat (Université de Montréal and CIRANO researcher) presented the main findings of Chapter 2 of CIRANO’s report Programmation de recherche à portée gouvernementale sur les politiques publiques et le marché de l’emploi.

The subsequent discussions brought together several CIRANO researchers and about twenty government representatives, focusing on:

• policies to promote the integration of immigrants into the labour market, particularly young immigrants and immigrant women;

• strategies to improve the integration of visible minorities;

• the role of entrepreneurship as a pathway to labour market integration in Quebec.

This meeting is part of CIRANO’s ongoing commitment to fostering knowledge transfer between researchers and public decision-makers, a core element of its mission.
