Stéphane Pallage, Associate Researcher and CIRANO Fellow, has been unanimously recommended for the position of Rector of UQAM.

The Board of Directors unanimously decided to recommend to the Quebec government that Mr. Pallage be appointed Rector of UQAM for an initial five-year term.

Mr Pallage was a Professor in the Department of Economics at ESG-UQAM from 1995 to 2017. Throughout his career at the University, he has held various positions: Director of Graduate Programs in Economics (2002-2005), Department Chair (2008-2012) and Vice-Dean of Research (2012-2013). He served as Dean of ESG-UQAM from 2013 to 2017. Stéphane Pallage was Rector of the University of Luxembourg from 2018 to 2022.
