Marcel Boyer Appointed to the Academic Steering Committee of the «2022 Antitrust Writing Awards»

Marcel Boyer, Emeritus Professor of Economics, Université de Montréal, and Fellow CIRANO, has been nominated to the Academic Steering Committee of the «2022 Antitrust Writing Awards».

The Awards Jury, composed of leading antitrust enforcers, academics and counsel, comprises the Board, the Academic and Business Steering Committees, the Student Committee, and the Editorial Committee. Each of these contribute to the Awards selection process. The Steering Committees selects the award-winning soft laws, and makes a short list of the best academic and business articles.

The aim of the Antitrust Writing Awards is to promote competition scholarship and to contribute to competition advocacy by selecting the best antitrust writings published in the past year. Winners will be announced at the Antitrust Writing Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, on the eve of the ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting, in Washington, D.C.

In 2012, Marcel’s Boyer article "The determination of optimal fines in cartel cases : The Myth of Underdeterrence" (with Marie-Laure Allain and Jean-Pierre Ponssard) was chosen as the Best Academic Economics Article.
