A CIRANO Associate Researcher since 2018, Frédéric Marty is a Researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). He is currently working at the Groupe de recherche en droit, économie et gestion (GREDEG) of the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis. He is also a researcher affiliated to the Observatoire français des conjonctures économiques (OFCE), within the innovation and competition research department and a researcher at the Chaire EPPP of the IAE de Paris (Sorbonne Business School).

Frédéric Marty completed his doctorate at the École normale supérieure de Cachan under the supervision of Robert Salais and his habilitation to direct research in economics at the Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis under the supervision of Jean-Luc Gaffard.

A legal economist, his work focuses mainly on competition policy. He co-leads the legal component of GREDEG and its structuring project SRM (Stratégies et régulations des marchés). He teaches at the Université Côte d’Azur, Aix-Marseille Université, the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (Turin) and the Toulouse Business School. Since 2010, he has been co-responsible for the column Pratiques Unilatérales of the journal Concurrences.

He is the author of numerous academic publications. His current research focuses mainly on economics and competition law, particularly in the digital sector. He has also worked on the economics of complex long-term administrative contracts.
