During this webinar organized by the Chaire de recherche Antoine-Turmel sur la protection juridique des aînés, Mélanie Bourassa Forcier presented the CIRANO report “Les résidences privées pour aînés (RPA) au Québec : enjeux et opportunités”, accompanied by Hugo Prévosto, co-author of the report. The report provides a better understanding of the RPA landscape and the reality of managers that impacts the quality of life of residents. At the conference, the two speakers provided highlights and key findings from the 200+ page report, which was compiled through interviews and surveys with RPP managers, employees and residents. This presentation concluded with a few recommendations, including the issue of red tape and regulation, the possibility of considering a mixed insurance system, and the need for collaboration between RPPs and health care institutions.
