As part of the Quebec government's Biofood Policy, the level of consumer confidence is measured with the Barometer of Quebec Consumer Confidence in Food, a measurement tool that was developed at CIRANO by Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, full professor at Polytechnique Montréal and CIRANO Fellow, and Ingrid Peignier, Senior Director of Partnerships and Research Valorization and CIRANO Project Director.
Since 2019, the Barometer has made it possible to track the confidence of Quebec consumers in food and to identify the determinants of this confidence. It's also a decision-making tool for the government and the actors of the food chain.
Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, Ingrid Peignier and Thomas Gleize, CIRANO research professionals, presented the highlights of the 3rd edition of this Barometer at CIRANO on June 8, 2023. This also marked the launch of the 2023-2024 thematic year “Accelerating the transition to a sustainable and innovative bio-food sector”.
