Light trucks are increasingly present in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. Équiterre mandated CIRANO to explore what motivates people to buy this type of vehicle, the typical profile of buyers and the actual use they make of their vehicle. At the same time, the David Suzuki Foundation studied the phenomenon in the Greater Vancouver area. The two organizations will compare the results of their research and Équiterre will present the campaign For Human-sized Transportation.
During this conference, Ingrid Peignier, Senior Director of Partnerships and Research Valorization CIRANO researcher explained the highlights of the CIRANO study on the motivations for light truck purchases in Canada and possible interventions to reverse the trend.
