Laëtitia Renée has been a professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Montreal since 2022, after earning her Ph.D. from McGill University. She is also a member of the Interuniversity Research Center in Quantitative Economics (CIREQ) and the House of Public and International Affairs at the University of Montreal.

Her research focuses primarily on the evaluation of public policies in the fields of education and the labor market. In her work, she uses econometric methods of causal analysis applied to large databases, particularly administrative data from the Government of Canada available through the Quebec Interuniversity Centre for Social Statistics (CIQSS).

In her recent work, she has studied the effects of scholarships and government grants in registered education savings plans on the pursuit of postsecondary education. Another part of her research focuses on the effects of public family policies, such as childcare subsidies and parental leave policies, on income inequality between men and women.
