I'm a doctoral student in political science at the Université de Montréal and Sciences Po Paris. As part of my studies, I am affiliated with the Centre pour l'étude de la citoyenneté démocratique (CECD) and the Centre de recherches politiques de Sciences Po (CEVIPOF). My work focuses on political behavior, the link between linguistic practices and political attitudes, and the role of language in shaping the image of political figures. More specifically, my thesis examines the attitudes of Quebec and French voters towards the language style (accent and register) of those seeking their vote. It aims to answer the following question: can the way a political candidate expresses himself or herself affect voters' assessment of his or her competence and, ultimately, compromise his or her chances of being elected?
