Biography

Joël Awouhidia Korahiré holds a PhD in economics from the University of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso. He worked as a researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique et Technologique (CNRST), then as coordinator for the implementation of the United Nations conventions on climate, biological diversity, and the fight against desertification.

Visiting researcher at the Department of Economics at the University of Sherbrooke in Canada since 2020, his research interests focus on the valuation of environmental goods, renewable energy and adaptation to climate change, particularly in developing countries. Joël Awouhidia Korahiré was a consultant for the World Resources Institute (WRI).
