Applied marketing models, statistics, research methodology, consumer behavior


A CIRANO Associate Researcher since 2002, Sema Barlas is Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Antalya Bilim University.

Holding a Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology and Research Methology from the University of Chicago, her expertise is in the areas of applied marketing models, statistics, research methodology and consumer behavior.

Her research has been published in journals such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes and Applied Journal of Econometrics with over 500 citations.

Prior to the Antalya Bilim University, she had taught at the University of Chicago, at Argosy University, at McGill University and at the University of Groningen, and worked in industry for several years. At Sears, Roebuck, and Co., she developed credit risk, credit revenue, and line-of-credit models to manage acquisitions and portfolios of existing accounts. At Experian, she led projects in all aspects of database marketing.
