Raquel Fonseca is Professor of Economics at ESG-UQAM. Along with Bernard Fortin (Université Laval) and Pierre-Carl Michaud (HEC Montréal), she is a co-holder of the Industrial Alliance Research Chair on the Economics of Demographic Change (CEDIA).

She is also a researcher and laboratory director at Centre de recherche de l’Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM), researcher at Centre de recherche sur les risques, les enjeux économiques, et les politiques publiques (CRREP), fellow at Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en analyse des organisations (CIRANO) and Affilated Adjunct Economist at RAND Corporation.

From September 2016 to November 2017, she was also part of the Expert Committee on Guaranteed Minimum Income formed by the Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity, François Blais, and the Minister of Finance, Carlos Leitᾶo.
