A CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since 2012, Raquel Fonseca is Professor at ESG-UQAM. She is also co-holder of the Research Chair in Intergenerational Economics. She is a researcher and laboratory director at Centre de recherche de l’Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM), researcher at Centre de recherche sur les risques, les enjeux économiques, et les politiques publiques (CRREP) and Affilated Adjunct Economist at RAND Corporation.

From September 2016 to November 2017, she was also part of the Expert Committee on Guaranteed Minimum Income formed by the Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity, François Blais, and the Minister of Finance, Carlos Leitᾶo.

Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), her research interests are health economics, pension systems, retirement and aging, poverty, entrepreneurship and labor markets.
