Publication of the book La sécurité sociale au Québec: Histoire et enjeux

La scurit sociale au Qubec

The implementation of social security programs has been at the heart of the transformation of Quebec society over the past fifty years. Quebecers can be proud to live in a society where economic development, social development and cultural development coexist. This book reviews the evolution of social security in Québec, makes certain observations and identifies the main issues for the future.

Rooted in the political vision and a reading of the demographic, economic and social context, it deals with the development and status of the various social security programs. To ensure the orderly evolution of these programs in the future, it is important to remember how they took shape and contributed to the development of our society. We must learn from history.
