Notable CIRANO presence at the Canadian Economics Association conference in Toronto

CIRANO's research community was represented at the Canadian Economics Association's annual conference in Toronto from May 30 to June 1, 2024.

Some forty people attended the special session marking CIRANO's 30th anniversary to discuss how economic expertise can influence policy. The round table, moderated by Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, featured CIRANO Fellows Marie Connolly, Kevin Moran and Dalibor Stevanovic, as well as Jeremy M. Kronick, Associate Vice President at the C.D. Howe Institute, Arthur Sweetman, Professor at McMaster University and holder of the Ontario Research Chair in Health Human Resources, and Tammy Schirle, Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University. The session was organized by Carole Vincent, Director of Knowledge Mobilization at CIRANO and Editor-in-Chief of PERSPECTIVES magazine.

Erin Strumpf, professor at McGill University, CIRANO researcher and Fellow, was invited to deliver one of the prestigious State of the Art Lectures on the theme of Health Economics and the Health Care System/Economie de la Santé et Système de soins de santé. About 60 people were in attendance.
