Seminar: Evaluation of Interventions Focused on the Social Reintegration of Quebec Inmates

CIRANO

Wednesday 10 Apr 2019
From 12PM To 2PM

Guy Lacroix (HEC Montréal and CIRANO) presented the results of the CIRANO report "Évaluation des interventions axées sur la réinsertion sociale" (co-written with William Arbour and Steeve Marchand).

This study provides a comprehensive picture of participation in the measures and presents a rigorous analysis of the net effects of the various reintegration programs offered within detention facilities on the offender's behavior following release. Privileged access to the Department's data banks and their merger with the institutions in Montréal, Québec City and Saint-Jérôme provided a rigorous and unprecedented perspective on the effectiveness of interventions carried out with inmates in these institutions.

Guy Lacroix

A CIRANO Researcher and Fellow since 1994, Guy Lacroix is Full Professor in the Department of Economics at the Université Laval.

Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from Université Laval, Guy Lacroix specializes in labour economics, applied econometrics and the economics of health. His research work looks at the relationships between income security policy and individuals' behaviour on the labour market, and at measuring the effectiveness of job re-entry policy for individuals with little schooling.
