The Joint Montreal Macro Brownbag gives Montreal-based researchers in macroeconomics the opportunity to meet and discuss each others’ work. The event brings together researchers from all economics departments in Montreal and promotes their collaboration. This edition was combined with Concordia University’s CIREQ Macro-Montreal Seminar.

Giacomo Candian

Researcher at CIRANO since January 2023 on the major theme of economic cycles and financial markets.  Giacomo Candian is an associate professor of economics at HEC Montréal. He holds a research professorship in macroeconomics and international finance. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College and an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Bologna.  He is also the author of numerous academic publications, books and special issues.

Heejeong Kim

Researcher at CIRANO since January 2023 and Fellow CIREQ since August 2017, Heejong Kim is an associate professor at Concordia University in the Department of Economics. Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from the Ohio State University, her research interests are business cycles, monetary policy, household finance, and inequality. She is the author of numerous academic publications, books or special issues and also the recipient of several fellowships and awards
