This discussion paper follows up on the event held on December 4, 2025, at CIRANO. During the event, four research studies were presented to gain a better understanding of the links between education, career choices, and the labor market in Quebec. The event, which brought together researchers, public policymakers, and institutional stakeholders, highlighted Quebec’s exceptional potential in terms of educational data and scientific expertise. This document offers a thematic summary organized around a central theme: in Quebec, investing in education remains profitable, but people are making their choices in an environment characterized by fragmented information, complex pathways, and growing uncertainty about career opportunities.
