CIRANO's President and Chief Executive Officer of CIRANO, Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin, and the Senior Director of Partnerships and Research Valuation, Ingrid Peignier, presented the highlights of the "Baromètre de la confiance des consommateurs québécois à l'égard des aliments" at the 2019 Annual Meeting of MAPAQ's Bio-Food Policy Partners.

Bringing together several government and bio-food sector partners involved in the implementation of the Policy, this meeting focused on the two main ambitions of the Policy: to maintain a high level of consumer confidence and to develop a prosperous and sustainable bio-food sector.

Some of the key highlights of the "Baromètre de la confiance des consommateurs québécois à l'égard des aliments" include:

  • 71% consider that Quebec food companies are continuously improving their ways of doing things and practices to meet consumer demands.
  • 71% have more confidence in Quebec foods than in imported foods.
  • 91% consider it safe to eat food grown or produced in Quebec.

These were the first results of a research project whose full report will be available this fall.
