CIRANO members at the forefront of an event on the global economy in times of polycrisis.

On November 21, the Institut d’études internationales de Montréal (IEIM), in collaboration with the Research Team on Economic Development and Territorial Inequalities and the École des sciences de la gestion (ESG) at UQAM, hosted the conference « The Global Economy in Times of Polycrisis: What Are the Impacts for Canada and Quebec? »

Julien Martin, Full Professor at ESG-UQAM and main researcher of the World Economy theme at CIRANO, participated in a panel alongside Mélanie Raymond, Chief Economist and Acting DG of International Economic Relations at Global Affairs Canada, and Hubert Bolduc, President of Investissement Québec International. Moderated by Sarah Elimam, Attachée of the CEO - Academic Partnerships and Special Projects CIRANO, this discussion explored the current state of the global economy, weakened by a tense geopolitical context, and analyzed its implications for Canada and Quebec.
