On May 22, CIRANO Associate Researcher and Fellow Christian Belzil (Polytechnique Paris) presented the results of his recent CIRANO study on the determinants of participation in post-secondary education and the choices of fields of study. Some 50 people from several departments, including the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur (MES), the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale (MESS) and the Ministère des Finances du Québec (MFQ), took part in this activity. This webinar was presented as part of the “Government Research Program on Public Policy and Workforce” set up at CIRANO under the coordination of Genevieve Dufour, Director of Major Collaborative Projects. Several presentations have already been organized for various ministries as part of this initiative. More presentations are planned for 2024-2025.
