Wednesday 17 Feb 2021
From 12PM To 1:30PM

Annie Royer, Associate Professor at Université Laval, Main Researcher of the theme Sustainable Development and Agri-Food at CIRANO, and Josée St-Pierre, Full Professor at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, CIRANO Researcher, presented the results of the CIRANO report "Facteurs qui entravent ou facilitent l’expansion des PME en croissance rapide de l’industrie bioalimentaire".

High-growth companies face particular challenges and must constantly adapt. The objective of this project report is to identify and analyze the factors that hinder or facilitate the expansion of high-growth SMEs in the Quebec bio-food industry. It also examines the specific needs of these SMEs (financing, qualified human resources, informational resources, social resources, etc.) whose satisfaction would facilitate their development and sustainability. The results of this study show that certain recognized myths about fast-growing SMEs do not stand up to the reality of the Quebec agri-food sector.
