Biography

A CIRANO Associate Researcher since 2016, Nathan Yang is an Assistant Professor at the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University. He is also Research Fellow at the Behavioral Economics in Action at Rotman (BEAR).

Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto, his main research interests are in behavioral analytics, empirical industrial organization, (mobile) health and wellness, and retail strategy.

Previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at McGill Desautels Faculty of Management and Affiliate Professor at McGill Bensadoun School of Retail Management.

His research has been published (or is forthcoming) in Marketing Science, Management Science, Quantitative Economics, International Journal of the Economics of Business, and the Review of Network Economics, and has been widely cited by popular press, including The Economist, Financial Times, and LA Times. He has secured numerous grants to fund his research (e.g., IVADO, SSHRC IDG, NET Institute).
