Researcher and CIRANO Fellow since 2010, Dorothée Boccanfuso is a full professor in the Department of Economics at the Université de Sherbrooke.
She holds a doctorate in economics from the Université de Laval. Her research interests focus on poverty and inequality profiles, growth decomposition methods, education and more recently on the impact analysis of economic policies on poverty and inequality.
She is also Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies and Director of the Doctorate in Administration (DBA) and Graduate Diploma (D3C) programmes (acting). After working for a year as a consultant for the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) with the mandate to provide technical support to researchers in the international MIMAP program, she joined the Centre de recherche en économie et finance appliquées (CRÉFA), now the Centre Interuniversitaire sur le Risque, les Politiques Économiques et l'Emploi (CIRPÉE) at Laval University, where she obtained her Ph.D. in Economics in 2001.
However, her experience with IDRC, CIRPÉE and international organizations (World Bank, International Monetary Fund, GTZ, ...) in Senegal, where she lived for five years, allowed her to develop new areas of interest such as poverty analysis.
