Benoit A. Aubert is Professor at HEC Montreal (Canada) and a Fellow of the CIRANO (Center for Interuniversity Research and Analysis on Organizations). Benoit Aubert past roles include: Director of the Rowe School of Business at Dalhousie University (Canada), Head of the School of Information Management and Professor at Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) – where he was the Chair of the Spearheading Digital Futures strategic initiative for the University, President and Chief Executive Officer of the CIRANO, Director of Research at HEC Montréal, and Director of the IS Research Group at HEC Montréal. Benoit Aubert has a long record of collaborations with both private and public organizations.
His main research areas are risk management, innovation, outsourcing, offshoring, and business transformation. He published several articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and reports on these topics. His numerous publications on risk covered outsourcing, information technology projects, infrastructure maintenance, and private-public partnerships among other topics. He also published papers on trust, ontology, and health care information systems. Benoit Aubert received funding from the Social Science and Humanities Council (SSHRC), the Fonds Société et Culture (FQRSC), and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
He is currently on the editorial boards of IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management and the Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems. He was a member of the New Zealand PBRF (performance based research funding) panel in 2018. He is a regular member of key information systems conference program committees (ICIS, PACIS, AMCIS). He co-chaired the Outsourcing mini-Track of the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Sciences for more than ten years and was a Senior Editor of Database nine years.
