CIRANO celebrates 25 years!


25 years is worth celebrating in style! Throughout the year, CIRANO will celebrate its 25 years of existence through a dedicated program of events. A series of special events will honor the achievements of CIRANO over the last 25 years, the expertise of its researchers, its products, its experimental economics laboratory and its centers of excellence.

CIRANO's 25th anniversary program will be unveiled on September 18th at McCord Museum.

Bernard Fortin appointed co-holder of the Industrial Alliance Research Chair on the Economics of Demographic Change
tw Bernard Fortin, CIRANO Fellow and full professor at Université Laval, was appointed in early July co-holder of the Industrial Alliance Research Chair on the Economics of Demographic Change.

Michel Magnan appointed Distinguised Member of the Quebec Order of Excellence in Education
tw Michel Magnan, CIRANO Fellow, Professor and Stephen A. Jarislowsky Chair in Corporate Governance at Concordia's John Molson School of Business, was appointed Distinguished Member of the Québec Order of Excellence in Education on June 15.

A CIRANO researcher receives the Robert Mundell Prize 2018
tw Andriana Bellou, CIRANO researcher and Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Université de Montréal, received the Robert Mundell Prize for the best article published in the Canadian Journal of Economics in 2017 by an early-career economist. Her paper, "Male Wage Inequality and Marital Dissolution: Is There a Link?", was published in the February 2017 issue of the CJE.

The 7th annual Workshop on Networks in Economics and Finance will be held on September 14th and September 15th, 2018 in Lucca Italy. It will be hosted by IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. This workshop is organized jointly with CIRANO and the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, and builds on the successful CIRANO Workshops on Networks in Trade and Finance that have taken place in Montreal and Fayetteville, Arkansas over the last six years.
