Forum on the Socially Responsible Development of Artificial Intelligence
November 2-3rd , Palais des congrès, Montréal


Forum jointly presented by the Fonds de recherche du Québec and Université de Montréal at the Montreal’s Palais des congrès. Partners : CIRANO, MILA, CIFAR, IVADO, CRE.
Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin (President and CEO of CIRANO) will moderate a panel on the evolution of the job market and educational system, in which Benoit Dostie (HEC Montréal and Fellow CIRANO) will take part.
Thierry Warin (HEC Montréal and Fellow CIRANO) and William Sanger (Polytechnique Montréal and Project director at CIRANO) will present an analysis of unstructured data from Twitter regarding the artificial intelligence. Tweets during the Forum will be collected and analyzed. To be part of the conversation, share your thoughts and reactions on Twitter, using the hashtag #FIAresponsable.

A fellow CIRANO, Roxane Borgès Da Silva, has been nominated as President of the Committee of Clinical Excellence of national prescriptions of the INESSS

The mandate of the Committees of Clinical Excellence is to contribute to ensuring the scientific rigor, as well as the professional and social acceptability of the productions of the “Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux” (INESSS). Mme Borgès Da Silva, fellow CIRANO, is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal. She holds a Masters in Econometrics and a doctorate in public health.

A food Industry survey
CIRANO, in collaboration with CRIBIQ, and INAF of Laval University, lead a pan Canadian survey among all the food companies (from farm to the retailers). This project will evaluate the perceptions and the concerns of the Canadian Agri-Food industry in relation to food fraud and will document the best practices used to detect and prevent fraud.
