COVID-19 - Information for Researchers, Partners and Collaborators

Dear colleagues, partners and collaborators,

At CIRANO, we have complied with the health measures recommended by government authorities to ensure the health and safety of our employees, researchers, students and partners. Our premises are closed and our employees are all teleworking. All our events have been postponed and meetings of researchers and teams are held via videoconference.

Despite these challenges, our research activities continue and we are operational. The CIRANO team remains highly motivated to move projects forward and not delay deliverables as much as possible.

Our researchers mobilized very quickly to respond to calls for research projects related to COVID-19 that were launched by several organizations to help governments respond, in particular, to public health issues.

We have also begun a collective reflection process to develop research projects to identify possible solutions to economic and public finance issues, including the impacts of the crisis, the recovery plan and the measures that will have to be implemented, depending on the sector, etc.

Our researchers, fellows and visiting fellows also speak out in the press to share their expertise in understanding the issues and suggest possible solutions.

In the current pandemic context, CIRANO, with its multidisciplinary research capacity and varied expertise, is keen to help its partners, both public and private, in their decision-making.

Rest assured that we continue to assess the situation regularly in order to make further adjustments if necessary. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss and pursue the progress of projects or for any question related to our activities.

Good luck to all during this difficult period.

Yours sincerely,

Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin
President and CEO of CIRANO
