Suzanne Bisaillon appointed as an ambassador for the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Université de Montréal

Suzanne Bisaillon, Honorary Professor at the Université de Montréal, CIRANO Researcher and Fellow, was appointed as an ambassador for the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Université de Montréal.

Suzanne Bisaillon is part of a group of 100 Centenary Ambassadors, including pharmacists, leading researchers, builders, drug development professionals, teachers, philanthropists, young influencers and finally, faculty staff. After a rigorous process lasting more than twelve months, candidates selected by their peers, students or the faculty community had to meet certain criteria: significant and significant contribution to the practice of pharmacy, to research, teaching, development and outreach of the Faculty, to faculty and student life or to the commercialization of drug discoveries or their application in the private or public domain, at the faculty, national or international level. Composed of 12 members, the selection committee was chaired by Mr. Michel Saucier. The appointments were the result of a complex procedure. Surveys were conducted with pharmacists, Faculty staff, students and collaborators. The nomination proposals were reviewed based on the criteria outlined above. The committee also took into account the research and publications carried out by teachers over the past fifty years. Subsequently, a list of 100 personalities was compiled and submitted to the Centenary Committee for final validation.

The Faculty of Pharmacy at the Université de Montréal, recognized as the largest French-speaking faculty of pharmacy in North America, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. To celebrate this anniversary, a series of significant and festive events will be held throughout 2019-2020.
