Catherine Beaudry nominated to the Administrative Council of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada

 

Catherine Beaudry, Full Professor at Polytechnique Montréal, Holder of the Canada Research Chair in Creation, Development and the Commercialization of Innovation and CIRANO Fellow, was nominated to the Administrative Council of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada on February 14th, 2018.

 

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) is a federal body that encourages and supports post-secondary research as well as training in the area. This body plays a prominent role in the Canadian world of research and science, and promotes greater fairness, diversity and inclusion in the social sciences. The SSHRC invests more $350,000 per year to support more than 8,000 post-graduate students and some 14,000 researchers.

 

The mission of the Administrative Council of the SSHRC is to promote and support research and scholarship in the social sciences. The members of the Council meet regularly to establish priorities regarding SSHRC programs and procedures, and to set the various budgets of the body.
