Biography

A CIRANO Associate Researcher since 2002, Ann-Renée Blais is Chief HR Business Intelligence and Organizational Health at Statistics Canada.

Holding a Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology from the Ohio State University, her research focuses on decision-making under risk and stress andcoping theories. She also has interests in applied statistics and psychometrics.

After completing post-doctoral work in behavioral economics, she began her career as a Defence Scientist for Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) in Toronto in 2002 and moved to Ottawa in 2015. She worked as a Defence Scientist for the Department of National Defence between 2017 and 2020. She was a part-time Sessional Instructor at both York University and Ryerson University for several years and has been teaching at the Royal Military College of Canada since January 2020.
